How To Turn Cleaning And Organization Into A Habit?
HOW TO TURN CLEANING AND ORGANIZING INTO A HABIT
TO ADD VALUE INTO YOUR EVERY DAY LIFE.

Being
organized and consistent with cleaning is a dream to most people. You know, the
type of person whose house is ALWAYS clean; not just when they are about to
have guests. All over social media you see moms who seem to have their lives
100% together -- they are fully motivated and seem to be accomplishing all
these great things in life. How do they do it?!
Let
me tell you, no one is perfect... But we can all try to be as great as we can.
Being an organized and clean person isn't as hard as it sounds. With small and
easy steps, you can turn these traits into a habit. The easiest way would have
to be to start making "To Do" lists. If you know you have things
coming up, make a list! Keep that list somewhere where you will see it;
somewhere hard to forget. Checking off every "chore" you've completed
will feel rewarding and will most likely motivate you to continue with your
list. It may even motivate you enough to become excited to ADD things onto that
list!
Another
great way or organizing is to separate things into categories.
Such as:
· home responsibilities,
·personal responsibilities
·family tasks
·work
Investing in folders is
a great idea because it will help you organize all your thoughts. That way, you
won't be rummaging through your paperwork, trying to figure out what you must
do, and when. For example, in your family folder, you might have your
children's sports calendars, school events, and payments coming up! In your
personal calendar, you might have bills coming up that you might need to budget
for.
Cleaning
and organizing doesn't always mean washing your floors and organizing paper
work. It can be other, more simple things like laundry, working on a calendar,
etc.… Start small and work your way up to things that you truly struggle with.
If you start with the most complicated task, you may find yourself discouraged
if you are unable to follow through with it completely. If you work your way up
to completing tasks, it will be less stressful, and you will be more likely to
succeed.
In
my own personal experience, I started with small things when it came to
cleaning and organizing; and let me tell you, IT WORKED! My mother was always
so big about cleanliness and organization; and although I liked the thought of
having everything all put together, I was lazy when it came to these things.
After having a child, I realized it really isn’t that difficult to be
organized! I was always cleaning her room and had spots for certain things
instead of just having everything everywhere (like in my room). It also could’ve
been because I know things NEED to be clean and organized for a baby! It makes
it quick and easy to access things that you need, and there is very little dirt
/ dust which is obviously great for the baby’s health.
I
started organizing in simple ways, like:
· cleaning out my
purse
· writing down my
schedule on my calendar + planner
· reorganizing the
clothing in my dresser
As
for cleaning, I also started small:
· making a habit to
do dishes every day
· vacuuming more
often
· cleaning the stove
/ microwave / fridge
· making my bed
every day + tidying up around my room + house
Depending
on the size of your household, you might have a bigger TO DO LIST. If you have
small children, it's a great way to help them to learn about cooperation. For
example: Have them pick up their own toys, sort laundry, help with siblings.
There are many ways to help organize and clean your home. Just start in a
room and don’t start another till you are done with the first one.
Want
to get more out of you time cleaning and organizing? Repeat the same routine
every two to three months, there way you can sort seasonal clothing. If the
child out-grow some clothe donate it to the Good Will, or some charity. The
same things for toys that no longer suits the child.
“One
man’s trash, it’s another man’s treasure!” In the end feels great about
cleaning/organizing your home.
You
seeing more things are getting done because you don’t have to spend countless
hours looking for a lost item. There’s less dust, less clutter, less headache,
less conflicts…It’s just a more productive way for the whole family to get
things done on time.
